De wijnproeverij - ooit was het iets waar je rijke oom mee dweepte op een verjaardag, maar inmiddels is het gemeengoed geworden van een bredere groep consumenten. De natuurwijn-nippende mens lijkt ineens overal te zijn. Ze lijken alle ins en outs rondom wijn te weten. Kleur, geur en smaak worden geanalyseerd al zittende op een hip terras. Wie zijn deze consumenten? En welke gebruiken en esthetiek hebben zich rondom deze natuurwijn-cultuur gevormd?
Als afsluiting van het pilot programma zullen de zes deelnemende kunstenaars tijdens een projectweek wijnbar Vin Natuur in Groningen onder de loep nemen. Ze zullen deze locatie gebruiken als vertrekpunt om gedurende de week te verkennen hoe consumptiegedrag in verband staat met identiteitsvorming. De week eindigt met een performatieve wijnproeverij waarin de kunstenaars een geheel eigen invulling aan dit evenement geven. Normen worden doorbroken, nieuwe tradities worden gevestigd en sociale conventies worden bevraagd of juist bevestigd.

Wine tasting – once the hobby of your wealthy uncle at birthday gatherings – has now become common practice among a broader group of consumers. The natural-wine-sipping individual suddenly seems to be omnipresent. They appear to know all the ins and outs of wine. Colour, aroma, and flavour are analysed while sitting on a trendy terrace. But who are these consumers? And what customs and aesthetics have developed around this culture of natural wine?
As the conclusion of the pilot program, the six participating artists will be delving into wine bar Vin Natuur in Groningen during a project week. This place becomes their point of departure, a stage upon which to explore how patterns of consumption intertwine with the shaping of identity. The week culminates in a performative wine tasting, where the artists reimagine the event on their own terms. Norms are unraveled, new traditions uncorked, and social conventions either reaffirmed or questioned.
